Eel - mouth supterior; dorsal fin starts distant behind end of pectoral fin.
Sea lamprey - seven external gill slits; no pectoral fins.
River lamprey - seven external gill slits; no pectoral fins.
Biology
Sexual mature with 5 to 15 years. Adults die after spawning in the open sea. After hatching the larvae live in open waters for 1 to 2 years. Adult body shape from about 15 cm on.Diet
